For me, this cottage cheese chocolate mousse is proof that indulging doesn’t have to be unhealthy! Sometimes you just crave something sweet – even if you’re trying to lose a few pounds. That’s exactly when this high protein chocolate mousse comes in handy.

It has only 250 calories and packs 34 g of protein! Thanks to cottage cheese, skyr, and protein powder, it turns into a true protein dessert – completely guilt-free. For me, it’s the best alternative to traditional chocolate mousse!

Why You’ll Love This Recipe:

Ingredients

See recipe card for measurements.

Ingredients

  • Cottage cheese: The base for a creamy consistency and a great source of protein. You can use full-fat or low-fat cottage cheese – both work perfectly.
  • Skyr: Makes the mousse lighter and creamier compared to using only cottage cheese. You can substitute it with fat-free Greek yogurt (0%), which works just as well.
  • Cocoa Powder: For that rich chocolate flavor – make sure to use unsweetened cocoa powder.
  • Chocolate Protein Powder: For an extra protein boost! I love using whey protein with a “Double Rich Chocolate” flavor. It adds a great chocolate note and is usually pre-sweetened, making your mousse naturally a bit sweeter.
  • Honey: Just a little honey enhances the flavor. Adjust the amount to your taste, but don’t overdo it as it adds extra calories. You can also use maple syrup instead.
